Early Childhood Intervention Teaching
Early Childhood Intervention Teaching at Access to Therapy
Our Early Childhood Teachers work with children aged up to 9 years and their families to support development, school readiness, and everyday participation. We deliver services in kindergartens, day care centres, schools, and home environments.
We provide support under the NDIS for both plan-managed and self-managed funding arrangements.
How Early Childhood Teachers Can Support Your Child
Our teachers focus on practical, everyday skills that build your child’s confidence and independence:
Transition Skills – Supporting smooth transitions to kindergarten or school, including morning routines, independence, and understanding classroom expectations.
Communication Development – Building skills in listening, speaking, and following instructions.
Social and Emotional Readiness – Helping children manage emotions, attention, and social interactions with peers.
Early Academic Skills – Introducing name recognition, early literacy, and numeracy concepts in preparation for formal learning.
Speech and Language Support – Working alongside our integrated speech therapy service to encourage language growth and early literacy skills.
Our Multidisciplinary Approach
We take a collaborative approach to early intervention. Where a child has additional needs—such as communication or language delay, literacy challenges, or transition-to-school concerns—our Early Childhood Teachers work closely with our Speech Pathologists and Occupational Therapists to provide integrated support (following the NDIS-recommended Key Worker model to ensure families have a single point of contact and coordinated care).
