Dietetics

WHAT IS PAEDIATRIC DIETETICS

Paediatric dietetics helps children and families build positive, confident relationships with foodβ€”from trying new foods and managing fussy eating to meeting nutritional needs for healthy growth. At Access to Therapy, our dietitian provides practical, realistic support that fits into everyday family life.

We work with children who have feeding challenges, sensory sensitivities around food, mealtime stress, or additional nutritional needs. Our support is always responsive, play-based and child-centredβ€”designed to reduce pressure around eating while helping children build confidence, curiosity and skills with food at their own pace.

Where We See Children

We make expert feeding and nutrition support accessible to families wherever you are. All initial appointments are completed via telehealth unless requested otherwise, with flexible options to suit your family.

Follow up sessions may take place:

- Online (telehealth) across Australia
- At home
- In kindy, preschool, or school settings
- In the community

Occupational therapy group session occur in Ipswich and Springfield, three young girls smiling and playing in a sandbox.

Our dietitian helps children and families with:

  • Fussy or selective eating (e.g. limited food range, mealtime refusal, anxiety around new foods)

  • Sensory sensitivities around food (e.g. textures, smells, tastes, and food aversions)

  • Feeding challenges and skill development (e.g. transitioning to solids, expanding accepted foods)

  • Faltering growth, weight concerns, and meeting energy and nutrient needs

  • Nutrition for additional needs (e.g. autism, ADHD, developmental delay, food-related behaviours)

  • Allergies, intolerances, and restrictive diets

  • Constipation, reflux, and other gut and digestive concerns

  • Supplement support

  • Building positive, low-pressure mealtime routines for the whole family

We tailor every plan to your child's needs, your family's routines, and what works in real life.
